DenverIrie Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Hi - I'm new here and have no idea how to start. I'm looking for a 4/5* hotel on the Strip for 9/12/14-9/14/14. My only real requirements are two queen beds and a nice pool. I would love the Aria, Vdara or Cosmo - but I know I can't name the hotel. Is $125 a night realistic? I have no idea where to start so I might need some serious hand holding...
AaronJB Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There is no way to guarantee exact bed type. Your best bet is to search for more than 2 people on Hot.wire - but even then that should result in some sort of bedding for the entire party - it may mean 2 beds, but could also mean 1 + sofabed or 1 + rollaway. Is two beds a must? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
DenverIrie Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 Yeah, two beds is a must (there will be more than 2 of us). Do you think $125 is realistic at all?
thereuare Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request.(or there could be an extra charge for a room with two beds, which has become the norm in Vegas) When you need two beds HOTWIRE would be a better option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) Would a pullout safabed, rollaway, etc. be acceptable as the second bed? If so, searching HOTWIRE for 4adults shows one hotel within your budget, a 4* hotel priced at $102/nite with: Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Casino Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... best guess for this property would be the Westin Casuarina, which is actually located slightly off-strip. DenverIrie Posted July 3, 2014 Author Report Posted July 3, 2014 That's not bad! I'd be willing to settle for that for sure. I'd be willing to go up to $150 a night if it meant right on the strip or a 5* though.
yellowdog Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 DenverIrie Westin is a very short walk from the Strip. And if you're happy with the price and amenities would I go for this. How do you want to play this? Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog.
DenverIrie Posted July 6, 2014 Author Report Posted July 6, 2014 True. But I have a little bit of time so I want to make sure I've explored all my options. Our preference would be to be right on the strip in one of the large casinos (such as Paris, Bellagio, Aria, Palazzo, MGM, etc).

In terms of 5*, given that the Trump is now a possibility as a 5* in Strip North via PRICELINE bidding, you may want to stick to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS (where you can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing) instead at the 5* level in Strip North.
