hyacinth33 Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Search: 2A 1Child I used Hotwire to stay at The James in SOBE and it was amazing. I'd like to try to get The James in Chicago. When searching I get: 1. Magnificent Mile Area Hotel 4.5* $151 ($354) 85% recommend (pet friendly, indoor pool, non-smoking, fitness center, outdoor pool, dining, business center, wifi) I'm thinking either Intercontinental or James? Is this a good location to view Pier fireworks? Traveling with a 5 month old for the first time :)
AaronJB Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :) If you click the listing, then click "book now", then click "see all amenities", do you see:Pet friendlyIndoor pool(s)Smoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerIf so, my guess would be the Intercontinental. If you search for 2 adults only, there is a 4.5* in this area w/ pet friendly, fitness, restaurant, business, free internet for $141 (you may see a slightly different price.) Unfortunately that listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. I like the Intercontinental, but not when there's other nice options for moderately-to-considerably less. I'm seeing a 4* in the NMA-Water Tower area for $69 when searching for 2 adults only with pet friendly, fitness, restaurant, internet, business. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and are flexible, $69 for a 4* in the city in the Summer is an awfully low rate. The Intercontinental is not far from NP and you could likely see the fireworks from the river area nearby, but I'm just not that much of a fan of the fireworks there. They used to have them in Grant Park - now people have to cram on to Navy Pier. The suburban shows along the lakefront are fun, but it really requires a car. Let us know your thoughts on the above and we would be happy to offer further suggestions. Also, please let me know if you have any Chicago questions. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
