Hello.  I'm hoping to identify these two hotels in the Chicago Downtown - Millennium Park/Grant Park area:

4* Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet Access $153 on 7/12

2.5* Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet Access $130 on 7/12

I feel like the second one is probably the Congress, but it isn't on the Hotwire list. The first one could be the Hyatt Regency.

It's been tough to find a good deal on 7/12.  I've struck out on Priceline so far.  I'm booking one room for one adult on July 12th and just staying one night.

I'd really recommend not going under 3* South of the river - there's a few hotels I really wouldn't recommend, including the Congress or Travelodge (and the 2.5* may be either of those.) While this night is unfortunately expensive, I'd say take the 4* over the 2.5* for about $20 more. A worthwhile upgrade, in my opinion.

For the 4*:

I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above?

You're correct.  I used the tool and got this one for the 4* hotel:

FULL AMENITIES: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

Here is what came up for the 2.5* hotel:

FULL AMENITIES: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking

The reason I'm considering that one is that I'm meeting up with friends who are staying at the Congress.

I've also considered the McCormick Place hotel because it's 4* and only $112.  I believe it's the Hyatt Regency, which is two miles away from the Congress but may be worth it.

Here is what that one has:

FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Wheelchair accessible

I'd be interested in your thoughts on what these are.

If your friends are staying at the Congress and it's refundable, they may want to consider trying to get something on Hot.wire or Price.line for a similar price (depending on what they paid.)

I'd still guess the 2.5* is either the Congress (more likely) or the Travelodge (which is less likely and right next door to the Congress.)

I'd guess the 4* in the MP zone may be the Hyatt on Wacker. If it is, it's pretty easy to get from there to the Congress (or your friends staying at the Congress can come up to the Hyatt.)

I'd guess the 4* McCormick-South Loop-Soldier Field hotel would be the Hyatt McCormick. The issue with this property is that there's really nothing much around it (aside from McCormick Place.) It is often more reasonable if there's not a convention going on, but I'd really primarily recommend it for those going to a convention. This is cheaper than the potential Hyatt Wacker, but prepare to take a taxis, which adds to the cost.
