Good Evening,

I am planning a trip between 8/28/14 through 9/1/14. I am actually looking for help identifying possibly 4 hotels to begin with. I will do my best to list the amenities, however, I do not see any link on the left side of the page after I click the "Book It" button. What I do see is on the right side of the page (after clicking "Book It") that says "See More" that lists a handful of amenities. Hopefully that will do.

The hotels are as follows...

4* Millennium Park Boutique - $132

Hopefully this is another information to help you help me. If anything further is required, please let me know!

Thanks!

I'd suggest against the Allegro. I often note that the West Loop where the Allegro is is quiet at night, but was downtown last weekend and felt like it was even more difficult than I'd remembered to find something open on a Sunday during the day around where the Allegro is - Corner Bakery, Starbucks, McDonalds - a bunch either closed Sunday or Saturday and Sunday. The French Market in the nearby train station is awesome, though (...but closed on Sunday.)

Out of the above, I'd go with the Burnham, which is a unique hotel with a lot of history and better located in the Loop than the Allegro. I'm not seeing the same Mag Mile-RN 4* when searching this AM.  Allerton is in a fantastic location, but is an older property and I think is more accurately a 3.5*.

I will note that 8/28-30 is cheaper than 8/30-9/1, so splitting your stay may wind up with a better per night average and/or better (different) options. I'm seeing a 4* in the River North area for $95 for the first couple of nights only. Let us know if this is of interest.

Thank you for the info! Oddly the Theater and Millennium Park hotels are showing higher prices than yesterday. but I do see both of the Magnificent Mile (River North and Water Tower) offers still out there.

I will follow your advice of splitting it into 2 seperate trips. One for 8/28-8/30 and then one for 8/30-9/1 and see if I can get a better price. However, what are the chances that I would get different hotels for those 2 ranges? While I do wish to save money, having to switch hotels mid-trip is an inconvenience I would prefer to avoid. Still, I will look into your suggestion.

So how often do the prices generally change on Hotwire?

It would likely require moving hotels.

I'm seeing a 4* for $98 w/

  • Free Internet
  • Pet friendly
  • Smoke Free Rooms
  • Fitness Center
  • Restaurant(s)
  • Business Center
  • Self service laundry
  • Internet access
If you click on the detail page, then scroll down there should be a tripadvisor logo with 4.5/5 and 4.5/5 green circles shaded.  This is for 8/28-30 only.

This would be a possible match for the Westin River North.

For 8/30-9/1, I'm seeing a 4* for $133 in the Mag Mile N-Water Tower area w/

  • Smoke Free Rooms
  • Fitness Center
  • Restaurant(s)
  • Business Center
  • Self service laundry
  • Internet access
  • Accessible for the blind
  • Accessible for the deaf
  • Accessible path of travel
  • In-room accessibility
  • Accessible bathroom
  • Handicapped parking
  • Roll-in shower
....which I would guess is the Allerton.

$115.50 per night average, but with a very well-rated property for the first couple of nights. Unfortunately, looking at both sets of dates, the weekend is just too expensive in comparison to wind up with a better overall average than the potential Allerton for all four nights, but again, a nicer option for the first couple of nights.

Also seeing a 4* in the Millennium Park zone for $125 for 8/28-8/31. Overall, just throwing out some alternate ideas.

HOTWIRE prices (and listing options) can change at any time. Prices will often change slightly throughout the day, but a listing may be seen between now and your stay or could change tomorrow.

Let us know if you have any questions before booking. Again, the Allerton is in a terrific location (and reviews have improved lately), I just think it one of the lesser options among the 4*'s in the zone.
