nastu Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Hi, I am trying to choose between two hotels. Can you please help me to identify them? My dates are July 5-July 9th 2014 for 2 adults and 1 children. 1. Hotel in Midtown Central area. 4.5 stars. Current price is $155 (original $387).65% Hotwire recommended (149 total reviews). 4 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor. Amenities Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access 2. Hotel in Midtown east area. 4 stars. Current price is $169 (original price $308).85% Hotwire recommended (227 total). 4 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor. Amenities Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet accessAccessibility Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Thank you!
AaronJB Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :) 4.5* MTC - possible match for the Park Lane. For the 4* MTE, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
nastu Posted June 26, 2014 Author Report Posted June 26, 2014 Thank you very much for your reply. I am little bit confused with the search, because it shows a little bit different price. So, I believe for the 4* hotel in Midtown East area amenities are: FULL AMENITIES: Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. Also, I just checked Park Lane it says that it is a 4* hotel and I don't see price higher than $270 per night, when Hotwire shows me that the original price is $387. I am sorry, I have to ask these questions, because it is my first time here. In addition, can you please let me know about two more hotels? 1. 3* in Midtown Central Area ($176 - discounted price on Hotwire, Original price is $322) FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower 2. 4* hotel in Madison Square Garden - Hell's Kitchen area ($145 price, originl price $188). FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Thank you very much!
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 The original price listed on HOTWIRE is not the price of the underlying hotel, it is an average price of comparable hotels in the area for your dates. The 3* MTC would be a possible match for the Holiday Inn Midtown 57th. The amenity set with the 4* MTE would be a possible match for the Lexington. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
nastu Posted June 27, 2014 Author Report Posted June 27, 2014 Thank you very much! And what about the last one on my previous message: 4* hotel in Madison Square Garden - Hell's Kitchen area ($145 price, originl price $188). FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 Likely Wyndham New Yorker for the MSG listing. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
nastu Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Hello, I found two hotels on Hotwire. I appreciate if you can help me to figure out the names of these hotels: Travel dates are 07/05/14-07/09/14 for 3 people. 1. 3.5 stars Hot Rate Condo in Madison Square for $112 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Full kitchen, Smoke Free Rooms, Air-Conditioning, Internet access 2. 4.5 stars hotel in Midtown central for $160 FULL AMENITIES: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access Thanks you!
yellowdog Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay. I can't get the any of the hotels to appear on my search for 3 adults. Can you please run a new search and confirm that you still can see this hotel on your search. Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 nastu, My guess is that you didn't included 3adults in your search above as i don't see these offers either when searching for 3adults/0children. I'm very familiar with NYC so if you let us know what you are looking for in a hotel, as well as your budget, i can likely make some suggests as to the better options offered. nastu Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 I'm sorry. The search was for 2 adults and 1 child 10 years old. I'm looking for something close to the center and preferably no more than $165 per night. I still can see this hotel-condo for $115 per night in Madison Square Garden. Thank you!
thereuare Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Using 2adults/1child i am now able to see this 3.5* Condo for $115/nite, but unfortunately i'm not able to determine which one it may be. The rate is excellent, especially for triple occupancy, and i might be inclined to roll the dice with this one given the 5.0/5.0 TA rating, but it does require a bit of a leap of faith given there is very little insight into this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. nastu Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Thank you. The rate is great, but that what scares me, it looks too cheap.... Can you recommend me something for 2 adults and 1 child for July 5-9 for no more than $160? Looking something close to the center, so we can explore the city. Thank you very much for your support
AaronJB Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Apartments are generally a little cheaper (as NYC goes) than hotels (given that they do not include many of the amenities that hotels often do, plus on the plus side you do get more apartment-style amenities, such as a full kitchen) and I really do think $115 is a pretty incredible deal. Plus, the 5/5 tripadvisor rating is pretty fantastic for anything in NYC during a busier period. In terms of under $160 on Hot.wire, there are not too many options - I'm seeing the 3.5* condo (which again, I think is a fantastic price and has a terrific rating), the potential Wyndham New Yorker (which is in a very convenient/central location) or the potential Park Lane (which has a very nice location right on Central Park.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 The rate is great, but that what scares me, it looks too cheap....I would proceed with caution based upon the rate alone, but this rate is not unheard of in NYC (especially given the summer months which is low season, and this stay is immediately following a holiday weekend where business traveler may not yet have arrived into town), but the 5.0/5.0 TA rating is what would push me in the direction to take a chance. If you're not comfortable with the above: 4* MSG for $154/nite is likely the Wyndham New Yorker Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... not my favorite hotel in NYC, but it's a historic hotel that is well located 3* MSG for $170 likely the Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... perhaps lower rated than you were originally seeking but it's well reviewed and the free breakfast should be enough to compensate you to go $5 over your budget. I did look beyond just the MSG zone but these seem to be the best value of what i'm currently seeing offered for your dates and triple occupancy. nastu Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Thank you. I am sorry, but you didn't write the name of the second hotel 3* for $170. Is it Holiday Inn? And what about 4.5* for $164 in Midtown central (FULL AMENITIES: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access) Is it Park Lane or something else?
thereuare Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Sorry about that... i have edited above, but my guess for the 3* would be the Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown. thereuare Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 For the 4.5* MTC i would guess the Park Lane... but the 65% recommendation rating kept me away from that one.
