dvs408 Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Hi brand new to this site and thanks for making it. I am currently looking to book 3 rooms for 11 people for 7/10-7/12 on the center strip for a 4 star hotel/casino and here's what I got: Price: $268 $80Resort Fee: Says this hotel charges about $19.95 per night. Don't know if this mattered but added in anyway.Amenities: Followed the bidding helper for full list: Free Parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Casino, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Any help would be great. Also was wondering which part of the strip would you guys prefer for a 4 star hotel/casino on hotwire or is the center strip the best way to go? Thanks!
dvs408 Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Posted June 23, 2014 Sorry this should have been with my last post but was wondering if this could be a better hotel since it's a little more expensive but less of a percentage off? Price: $184 $122 (33% off) other hotel was 70% offResort Fee: $18.00 per nightList of Full Amenities:Free Parking, Pet friendly, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Thanks!
AaronJB Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 The amenity set for the cheaper property would be a possible match for the Westin. I'm not seeing the more expensive property when searching for these dates - are you still seeing it when searching? Also, I'll note that more expensive does not necessarily mean better. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
dvs408 Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Posted June 24, 2014 Yeah it's still there, when you put 3 rooms and 11 people for the center strip on those dates, these are the only two that shows a green flag saying 70% and 30% off. Was wondering if the 30% off hotel option is a better hotel than the 70% off. Also if you had a choice of using hotwire to choose which section of the Vegas strip to stay at for better options of 4 star hotels/casino, which would you choose? Thank you
thereuare Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. I'm not seeing the more expensive hotel either when searching HOTWIRE for your dates, 3rooms/11adults... perhaps this is the 3.5* hotel offered for these dates and you've omitted the Tennis amenity?? If so, best guess for this one would be Ballys, Harrahs, or the Flamingo... though i'd slightly favor the latter two as being a bit more likely than the former. However, you should ignore the crossed out price as that is an average rate of hotels of that star rating in the zone for your dates, not necessarily the rate for the specific hotel that is being offered. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. dvs408 Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Posted June 24, 2014 Yeah you're correct, that was actually a 3.5 star hotel haha sorry about that. I'll let you guys know if I go through with this deal as I really don't want to get the Westin hotel. Thank you
