sbixby Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 We have a group of 2 couples and 1 college aged person who are travelling to NYC on the above dates. I have never bid for a hotel before. From reading your forums, I see that Hotwire will be the way to go to ensure 2 beds in the first room. Any suggestions for bidding would be appreciated. We would like 4+ stars and it needs to be in the Times Square/Theater district as one person has some mobility issues (no wheelchair/walker just physically limited) Thanks for any help given.
AaronJB Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The best way to go about this stay would be Hot.wire, given that you can enter in the amount of people in the party, which should result in some form of bedding (it may be two beds, may be 1 + sofa or 1 + rollaway) for the party. Price.line only guarantees one bed/double occupancy, which is especially true In NYC. If you search for the amount of people in your party for your date/s, are you seeing a 4* in the TS zone in your desired budget? If so, please provide the full details of the listing - star rating, zone, complete list of amenities, price per night (before taxes/fees.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

thereuare Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 ... it needs to be in the Times Square/Theater district...As 2 out of 3 of the above are not in Times Square, is this no longer a requirement? For each of the hotel above, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? ... and please read your messages before replying. sbixby Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Posted June 23, 2014 I read my messages :-) and followed accordingly. So here are the results of the Hotwire Easy View Search: Option 1 - Times Square Theatre District, 4 stars, $242, pet friendly, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, self serve laundry, internet access, accessible for the blind, deaf, path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking, roll-in shower Option 2 - Midtown Central, 4 stars, $240, fitness center, internet access Option 3 - Midtown East, 4 stars, $232, fitness center, business center, restaurant(s), internet access

If Times Square is no longer a necessity, why not the 4.5* MTE property? At $248/nite it's very near the price of the other non-Times Square properties inquired but has a much better 95% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests, as well as an impressive 4.5/5.0 TA rating: Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible ... the Omni Berkshire or the New York Palace would be my best guess for this one.
