jprof Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Going in from the HOTWIRE link on BetterBidding.com, I'm seeing a 4-star at $128 for 6/26 (one night) with these amenities: Boutique HotelSmoke-freeFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterInternet AccessAccessible for the blindAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibility Any guesses on whether this might be the Hotel of Chicago (Autograph)? Palomar? Felix? There's a green thumbs-up with a 90% recommend. Ideas?
AaronJB Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 If you click on the listing, then click on "book now", then click "see all amenities" are you also seeing "roll-in shower" and "accessible parking"? This could be a match for the Palomar, Chicago (former Sax) or Felix. It could be any of those three, but I'd lean towards the Chicago being the most likely and Palomar being highly unlikely. Are you searching for more than 2 people? I'm seeing this for $103. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jprof Posted June 21, 2014 Author Report Posted June 21, 2014 Well, darn. I had to leave home for several hours and the deal disappeared in that time. Sigh.
jprof Posted June 21, 2014 Author Report Posted June 21, 2014 Wait, now I see it again (after waiting several minutes and refreshing) at $103. Here are the amenities: Boutique HotelSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessible for the blindAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower
yellowdog Posted June 21, 2014 Report Posted June 21, 2014 I'm getting a $173 rate for the same hotel.Do you still see this hotel? Are you on the USA HOTWIRE site? Can you please provide a follow-up for your prior Dublin Hotwire threadPlease use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog.
jprof Posted June 21, 2014 Author Report Posted June 21, 2014 I last saw that $103 rate about 2 a.m. June 21. I don't see that hotel anymore on Hotwire (and, yes, I'm on the USA site -- assuming that's what this site links to for travelers who live in the U.S.). There are other 4-stars in Magnificent Mile-River North, but none has exactly the same amenities or the same percentage recommend. I decided that, given the amenities, that $103 rate must be for the Hotel Chicago Autograph Collection and, even at that good price, I wasn't sure I wanted it.
yellowdog Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Do you see any other property you need ID help with? Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 I'm seeing the $103 again. While the Hotel Chicago (which was previously the Sax) is maybe not exactly what you were looking for, it's significantly less than other options downtown for these dates. The Chicago is also in a terrific location. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
