LovesCoffee Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 We need to book a hotel that is pet friendly, with a pool for a little over a month in the Newton area. We drove up and looked at a few and were underwhelmed by the Extended Stay Waltham. Loved the Westin. I'm looking to spend no more than $100/day including wifi/parking. Is this going to be possible? I've checked rates on priceline, etc. and am so confused with the various rates. We only have 2 weeks until we need lodging. Also, if I bid through Price.line, it will only cover a period of the stay. Am I crazy to try to win a bid for both legs of the trip? Please help!

(and what about the possibility of a Pet Fee??) Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option and the possibility of needing to change hotels acceptable? We'll need to be traveling to Newton during rush hour, so that's been a consideration. I'm bringing two children, so I'm looking for a clean hotel. I don't have a minimum star requirement, just pool, petfriendly, clean and wifi :-) We could stay at the Extended Stay Waltham (the one with the pool which is quoted at $95-99/night) but the Westin and other hotels we saw were so much nicer which is why I'm here asking for help. Pet fee is okay. The $100 doesn't have to include fees but would really love it did. Checking in on June 29 and out on Aug 2. I'm not familiar with splitting a bid, but if it involves my spouse...that's fine!

Is the $100 target an attempt to beat the Extended StayAmerica rate and that is your fallback option if unable to find anything thru PRICELINE and/or HOTWIRE?
