Using Price.line quick quote try to figure out where to start. I'm looking for a downtown centre for 4* going from 09/09 to 09/13.

Currently the Priceline.express is showing $150 per night for 4* int he entertainment and financial districts for:

Guest Rating 7+

Swimming pool

Pets allowed

Restaurant

Fitness center

Business center

Started bidding at $100 for the 3 central areas and no luck so far. Any ideas how much it will go up to and the type of hotel it will be?

Will keep you posted with the results.

Thanks

The highest bid i've done so far is $100 which was today will bid again tomorrow, most likely will go up in $5.

The areas I have used are:

Downtown Toronto North - Yorkville

Downtown Toronto Southeast - Union Station & St Lawrence Market

Downtown Toronto Southwest - Entertainment & Financial Districts

HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Sheraton for $147/nite for your dates and i suspect that PRICELINE bidding will likely take you very close to this price.

Are you familiar with re-bidding (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the subject it's highly recommended to ask question and confirm your re-bid zones before utilizing this strategy) and/or bidding the zones in different combinations in order to bid more than once per day... OR are you selecting all 3 zones and making one bid?

Thanks for the info.

I have been re-bidding by adding one zone at a time but using the same price $100 for each added zone in case the price might match it. Is this possibly the wrong strategy. Should I increase my bid for each zone I add. Wasn't too sure which way to go with the bids.

This is what you're doing for Downtown North, Downtown SouthEast, and Downtown SouthWest, correct?

You can do a little better that you are, and you can do a LOT better by using re-bid zones... i assume you are not using any re-bid zones at the moment? (ie- not including any other zones other than the three above)

I think I got the hang of this now :).

So got up to $130 re-bidding and also used 10 additional zones on top of the three mentioned, nothing yet.

The HOTWIRE offer for what i believe to be the Sheraton is still available at $147/nite, so of this is acceptable, you can continue to bid on PRICELINE up to this price point, and if still rejected simply take the HOTWIRE deal.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress (or if any additional questions come up along the way)
