Hi,

Looking to plan a night in NYC on Friday, September 26th for one night. We would like to be around the Central Park South (Price.line) or Midtown Central (Hot.wire) area.

Yesterday, I tried at Price.line starting 4.5* at 150 and went up to $230 without any success. Then, I tried for 4* starting at $120 and went up to $175 with no success (we sequentially added different zones in that general area).

Should I wait longer? Is there an ideal time before the stay to book?

Nobody can say if rates will come down between now and your stay... or if they will continue even higher, it all depends on how actual demand (new bookings/cancellations) come in relative to expected demand; but i will add that seasonally this is an expensive time of year in NYC. For more on this subject see the related 'Book Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

In regards to your trip above, depending upon zones you're willing to include in your bidding, at current my guess is that a 4.5* will likely run you $230-$250... a 4* will run $175-$195.

Let us know your thoughts as to whether you'd like to bid higher at this time, and if so, if you want to go for a 4.5* or a 4*, and which zone(s) are acceptable.
