Hotwire Hotel: 3* Lincoln Villager Courtyard and Gardens

3* (or so they say) Villager Courtyard & Gardens - mistakenly identified as Best Western

Amenities listed:

Shuttle, Restaurant, Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Business center, Laundry

OK, this is my first REAL disappointment with a Hotwire purchase.

First of, with so many amenities listed, I was hoping for a rather nice hotel, may be in the downtown area. What I expected the least was a former Best Western in the middle of nowhere. The whole airport shuttle idea is sort of a joke: the shuttle serves the airport ONLY, and you just can't get anywhere from this hotel. Even walking to the only nearby "attraction" - Westfield shopping mall - would seem awkward in the area were streets don't even have sidewalks.

Second, upon arrival I quickly learned that this place may be is just one notch up from an average motel. True, they had some fancy plumbing fixtures in my room, but otherwise the room looked pretty worn out. It was not large either and substantial part of it was taken up by a gigantic prefabricate wardrobe / dresser / storage unit.

Overall, I would not give this hotel more then 2*, well may be 2.5* on a very bright sunny day.

Their restaurant is pathetic, it's so easy to find better ones. The "free breakfast" includes only coffee and pastries (that is no cereals, no fruits, no juice...). And you are, sort of, expected to tip the waitress. Needless to say, the hotel has neither wireless nor wired internet connection. There was no business center marked on floor plan. And for me going to the pool or fitness center would require walking for about 200 yards across their parking lots...

Recommendation: avoid if at all possible!

Thank you for this new hotel to add to our lists and sharing your (negative) experience with the board... it's important that we know when there is a 'dog' hotel in a given zone; fortunately many can now choose to avoid this property if they so desire.

Can you please add (copy/paste) some of your comments to the HOTEL REVIEW section of the board. This will enable to put a "REVIEW" link next to this property in the hotel lists and others will be able to see your comments above more readily.
