td1 Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Looking for a nice downtown hotel. I need 2 rooms for 5 nights.Jan 8-Jan13 2006Would prefer 4* I have seen lots of rooms at 55 a night. But it looks like omni and westin are sold out on there website. Should i try for the 55 rate anyway looks like it only goes to those 2 and that I would need to be about 75 for the hilton checkers. That would stretch the budget but is doable. I would like to hit one of the 4* bit if not where should I bid for the 3*'sAny advice???ThanksTodd
thereuare Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 You have nothing to lose by bidding (except a wasted bid which is not a factor here since you have so much time before your stay). You have 5 re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in Los Angeles (if you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board. You can bid as follows, which would enable you to see if you can have success at lower levels or if you can win one of the other 4* hotels in the area at higher levels (or need to switch zones/star rating)Select 4* Downtown....Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75.If the above is rejected you can then make a decision as to what direction you'd like to head next.
