itzalex3
I didn't hear about the re-bidding strategy until right about now... I bid bit $78 around 10pm last night... did I already screw up the rebid process? (end up paying higher?) I'm really hoping to get The Venetian or the Palazzo for these dates, anyone have any tips for this newbie here? Any help is Greatly Appreciated thank you! Link to comment
yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding! You only have a 24h lock-out so you'll be fine. I'm really hoping to get The Venetian or the Palazzo for these dates, anyone have any tips for this newbie here? You can't bid on or avoid a specific hotel when using PRICE.LINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOT.WIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOT.WIRE usually costs a little more than PRICE.LINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive. What is max budget/night before tax/fee's? Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog. itzalex3
Well- if I do Priceline.Express for North Strip, I almost guarantee the 5* is for Palazzo, considering the the NYO rating is 9+ and it seems to me Palazzo is the only 5 star in that region that is 9.1 and not 8.8 like The Venetian or the Wynn. At $106 per night, it's not too shabby... but I really want to try my luck at The Venetian Link to comment
thereuare
When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. Please see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for the process to determine your re-bid zones, and feel free to confirm them with the board (highly recommended if you're new to the concept) As the discount code and link in my signature will give you an extra 5% OFF PRICELINE EXPRESS deals, the $106 deal comes down to $101/nite... how high are you willing bid for any 5* hotel in the zone before you take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer? Let us know your maximum bid, as well as confirm your re-bid zones with the board, and we'll suggest a bidding strategy for you to follow. itzalex3
Max was $90. I used the re-bid strategy (ALL 11 tries) increasing $1 and $2 starting from $70. Didn't work, no deal :( Link to comment
thereuare
You could get a 5* hotel in this zone somewhere between $91 and $101... would you be willing to bid up to $101? itzalex3
i could just express it at $101... anywho- i dont want to to south strip vicinity because of Vdara (happed before, HATED it), but any suggestions on how to get cosmo or aria? Link to comment
AaronJB
There is no way to get a particular hotel via bidding. If you bid, you have to be willing to accept any hotel at that star rating in that zone. Are you seeing a 5* priceline.Express Deals listing in the South Strip zone w/casino? If so, please list the complete set of amenities you are seeing and price per night before taxes/fees. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
i could just express it at $101...Right... so is a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone, what you want, worth $90/nite but not $101/nite?? If you're open to the South Strip zone there is a 5* offered on HOTWIRE, with Casino (so you know it's not the Vdara) for $69/nite with: Free Parking Resort Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... my best guess for this one would be the Aria, if this is of interest. Does this work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. itzalex3
Thanks! This is actually really helpful- imagine if it was the Cosmo *drool... If it's not the Vdara, Cosmo, or Aria, what else could it be (5*)? The only reason why I want the Venetian or the Palzzo so bad is because of their large rooms/suites. I have relatives going to vegas with me for the first time in their lives and I want it to start with a BANG! How is the Aria? Link to comment
thereuare
The Aria is very nice and deserves it's 5* rating. If you really want then Venetian or Palazzo, then i think it's worthwhile to take the $101/nite PRICELINE EXPRESS deal... each of these is currently selling for over $150/nite for your dates so this would be a decent deal, and sub-$100 for a 5* in the Strip North zone is not that common. While nobody can say if rates will go up or down between now and your trip, i would think there is more risk to rates moving higher than moving substantially lower. While i am a fan of both the Venetian/Palazzo, and that end of the Strip... for $69/nite i think the (believed to be) Aria is a better value. itzalex3
Aria's rooms seems small... I really like the Palazzo and Venetian mainly cause of the extra living room Link to comment
AaronJB
I'd agree - if you want the Palazzo or Venetian, choose the priceline.Express deal and use the coupon. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
