Hey everyone. I have never used a bidding site and was wondering if I could get some help.

I would like to book a room at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City but I am wary of the bidding sites because I do not really want to get a room at the Doubletree.

Any advice? I realize that you can't pick the hotel but I was wondering if choosing different criteria in the search or bidding a specific amount would lead to success in getting a room at the Hyatt?

Also, I noticed that Hotwire has the Hyatt listed as the only 4* hotel. Would I have better success over there?

I am willing to pay 100+ for the room.

As you point out, you can't bid for a specific hotel. With rates directly at the Hyatt.com website at nearly $400/nite i don't think you have much chance of success getting this on Priceline (and not near the $100+ price point).

Hotwire would be a better choice if you're trying to target a specific property, but their rate isn't much better than the hotel's website.

I'm very familiar with this area if you need help with alternatives.
