Lovely_Star Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Hi all, It's been awhile since I played the priceline bidding game so I'm a little rusty. Could use some tips to book a one night stay in Vegas. First time there so not sure where to start as far as the map goes, but I'd imagine staying on or near the strip would be ideal since we will not be renting a car. Prefer a 4* but will settle for a 3* if I can get a better deal for the night. How should I work the map? What's a good starting bid? I'm looking to keep it under $150 including taxes and fees.
thereuare Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Could you please follow-up your previous Airfare Prices thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. Remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them as it helps keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone, and is a courtesy to anyone who took the time to reply to your post/questions. For your Vegas trip above, most on-strip Vegas properties now charge a resort fee of $20-$25/nite... are you including this in the $150 budget you mention above OR is the $150 in reference to the all-in price paid to PRICELINE / HOTWIRE? (obviously if that price includes any hotel resort fees it would need to lower the amount of your bid price which would make it tougher to win one of the 'better' hotels (ie- lower star rating or lesser location)) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Lovely_Star Posted June 3, 2014 Author Report Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks for responding I wasn't aware of the added resort fee. I'd like to spend $150 all in...unless it's really unreasonable.
thereuare Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Can you please further respond to your Airfare volatility threads with the information requested, as it's not clear what action you ultimately decided to take. As far as your Vegas trip above, you're going to need to make an choice between 'experience' vs. 'budget'... if you want something very nice and well located, and the 'vegas experience', then you will need to spend more than $150... if you just want a room to sleep in and will try to 'experience vegas' by hotel hopping and seeing the sights, then you may be able to get something closer to your budget. What are your thoughts in this regard? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Lovely_Star Posted June 4, 2014 Author Report Posted June 4, 2014 I'm confused because JAuz just got a 5* Las Vegas hotel on Priceline for $83!
AaronJB Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Different dates result in different rate/s - rates can even vary substantially from one day to the next. The other user's stay is Sun-Thur and Vegas is often substantially less expensive midweek nites than weekends. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches..
