WarEagleThomas Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 I am trying so hard to be somewhat savvy in planning our big kids' first trip to NYC. They are 15 and 12. My husband and I were hoping that waiting until 1 month out would be a good idea in getting some deals on hotels. We absolutely MUST have two beds. I am afraid with our filter (I am using Hotwire) that we will not have a guarantee of two beds. I would appreciate any thoughts you have on this concern as well. 2. I would appreciate any assistance that you could provide on these descriptions:Times Square--Theatre District Area $234/night 95% recommendedpet friendlyfitness centerrestaurantsbusiness centerinternet access trip advisor--4.5 out of 5 with 95% recommended Financial District -- Wall Street area $204/night 95% recommendedfree internetsmoke free roomsfitness centerrestaurantsbusiness centerself service laundry trip advisor--4.0 out of 5 with 95% recommended 3. Does anyone have thoughts on the New Yorker as a place to stay? Thanks so very much!
AaronJB Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)If you search for 2 adults and 2 children on Hot.wire, that should result in some form of bedding for the entire party. There is no guarantee of bed type, though - it may be two beds, 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. If you search for 2 adults and 2 children in some cities, 2 beds would likely be no problem. However, given NYC's small rooms, there is definitely a risk that 2 beds may not be possible. For both Hot.wire listings: I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? I haven't stayed at the New Yorker (which was previously a Ramada), but reviews have improved somewhat since it became a Wyndham. The property is in a solid location, as well. Some Price.line Express deals have the option of bed choice and occasionally, you will see 2 beds as an option. However, often in NYC it's variations on one bed. WarEagleThomas Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Posted June 2, 2014 1. Ok, thanks! That is scary to go in blind about the two beds. I'm not sure if I am willing to take the risk.
