jrnygrl Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 I am looking for a 4* hotel in the Rittenhouse, Center city or Penn's landing area 6/1/14-6/4/14. I have a room currently booked at Wyndham Historic for $103 for a King. From my understanding that is a 3* hotel. On hotwire I seeOld City-Penn's Landing area 90% recommended, $144 per nightAmenitiesPet friendlyrestaurantindoor poolbusiness centerfitness centerself service laundryOr Rittenhouse square area 4* $150business center, smoke free rooms, self serve laundry free internet and fitness center Do I already have a good deal at the wyndham or would it be worth the extra money to choose one of the 4* hotel. thank you.
thereuare Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? However, I think it becomes a question of what you're looking for from this stay, how nice of a hotel you want, and how important your budget is... are you willing to spend 50% more for a higher rated hotel (given the price of the two above that you listed)? Not sure of your plans or the zones that you're willing to accept, but at first glance i see a 3.5* in the City Center East zone for $93/nite with: Indoor Pool Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Travel Accessible Roll-in Shower ... this property also has a 4.0/5.0 TA rating, is 95% recommended by previous HOTWIRE guests, and is a little cheaper than your back-up. So if this zone works for your plans, i would think this property would likely be an overall better deal than the Wyndham you currently have booked (for which the reviews are somewhat mixed). My guess for this 3.5* HOTWIRE property would be the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you decide to take the HOTWIRE property above) and we'll go from there. jrnygrl Posted May 26, 2014 Author Report Posted May 26, 2014 Thanks for your reply. My desire is a smoke free, boutique hotel and I would like to spend around $130. But if I have to stay in a hotel, I would like a nicer smoke free 3.5* and up. After comparing Doubletree and Wyndham and seeing reviews, I will most likely cancel Wyndham. Rittenhouse, city center and Penn's Landing would be my zones in order of preference. I tried NYOP for a 4* in Rittenhouse with Navy Yard and Trevose as my decoy with a top bid of 120. no luck. (I did use your link). What do you suggest? Right now I see the following from BiddingHelper.com Rittenhouse Square 3.5* $120 Full Amenities Free internet, Smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, self service Laundry, internet access, accessible path of travel, accessible bathroom roll in shower. Or Rittenhouse square 4* $140 Free internet, smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, self serve laundry, internet access, accessible for the blind, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, in room accessibility, wheelchair accessible, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking and roll in shower Thanks again for your help.
thereuare Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Please copy/paste the amenities directly from the EASY VIEW at BiddingHelper.com as it makes things a little easier on our end when the amenity names are consistent... I'm not certain, but my guess for the 3.5* would be the Club Quarters Philadelphia... for the 4* maybe the Radisson Blu Warwick Philadelphia or the Westin Philadelphia, but unfortunately i can't say with a high degree of confidence.
