Darkarcher Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Forum Newbie here. Read my message, and will definately be using the links from now on. I use priceline quite a bit when traveling to Dallas TX 3 times a month. I have not been having much success with NYC however. My wife and I are concluding a trip to Boston on the 5th and taking the train to NYC. She has never been. I want to stay in at least 4* being it is our anniversary (27 years). Looking for what I should expect to pay, and any other advice on staying with in budget. I am not extremely familiar with the area and would be willing to venture out some to get a better place at a better deal. We are on foot the entire 2 days so want to at least be in the area. Budget $250/night all in. Thanks!
thereuare Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and congratulations no your upcoming anniversary ) Budget $250/night all in.To confirm... is this all-in for the 2 nites OR is this all-in each nite? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Darkarcher Posted May 23, 2014 Author Report Posted May 23, 2014 $250 per night budget. So far I have just been trying TS, and since this is her first trip was hoping to stay close. I am not at all familiar with the particulars about the area and am willing to consider other areas.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 So far I have just been trying TS...How high have you bid already? I am seeing on PRICELINE EXPRESS a 4* in Chelsea (Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Fitness Center) with at least a 9.0/10.0 user recommendation. The price is $236/nite, but the discount link and code in my signature (expires tonite) gives an extra 10% OFF which would bring this inline with your maximum budget. My guess for this property would be the Eventi, but even if this is not correct, i'd be very comfortable with the 9.0+ user rating. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer) and how we can be of further help. Darkarcher Posted May 23, 2014 Author Report Posted May 23, 2014 I have bid 240 per night which is almost 300 with fees and the like. Is Chelsea going to close enough to do all the walking? I am going to probably try and pull the trigger tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the guidance
AaronJB Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 I think Chelsea is a fine base to explore the city. Personally, I would much rather go for areas like MTE, ESB or Chelsea than TS/MTW. The HK zone has very few hotels, but one of my absolute favorite sights in NYC, the Intrepid Air/Space Museum, which is a must and a really unique experience. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
