Looking for:

3.5 or 4.5 star

2 rooms, 1 person in each room

Ideally looking for great deal - somewhat flexible with areas but ideally:

Union Square - East Village
SoHo - Tribeca
Empire State Building Area
Chelsea Area

Would love some bidding advice and of course will use the forum links to book! Thanks for help!

3.5 or 4.5 star

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

In addition to your budget, please let us know if you're willing to pay more for a 4.5* vs. a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR if your goal is the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip.

My desired budget would be less than $200 per night per room, of course as cheap as possible. We are traveling together with people from another company so it needs to look representable as they will stay at the same place most likely.

I would be willing to pay a bit more for better quality yes.

Thanks I look forward to the advice you can provide1!

...they will stay at the same place most likely.

Keep in mind if they make a separate purchase and/or bid on their own they could receive a different property.

Here are what i believe to be some options within your budget (although not necessarily in the zones you've listed above):

4* The Lexington New York City for $209/nite (but down to $189/nite when using the PRICELINE EXPRESS discount code and link in my signature)

4* Wyndham New Yorker ($200/nite = $222/nite - 10%)

3.5* Hotel Boutique at Grand Central (not certain, but if interested i can research further) for $194/nite ($215 - 10%)

... are any of the above of interest?

So this isn't bidding this is just a straight booking through Price.line?

Also to add, what would you suggest are the best deals in the zones I mentioned, even if we need to go up in price slightly?

For the zones you mentioned, nothing really jumps out as being head and shoulders above the rest.

What looks like the St. Giles - The Tuscany is on HOTWIRE, and that is very well reviewed, but at $262/nite it's more than 'a little' over your budget.

Where will most of your plans this trip be centered around? (it sounds like a business trip, so if visiting other offices, is there one spot where they are mostly located?)

I see that the coupon changed to a 5% off - I should have booked earlier.

Will this be changing back to 10% soon and before my trip? I am ready to book now.

There is no way to know. There have been an assortment of Price.line coupons lately - this one may be the last for a while, but there may be others coming behind it. You also have to take into account the possibility that rates could go up while you wait for a better coupon.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Nobody can say what the PRICELINE marketing department has in store for the weeks ahead, but with this coupon valid until July 5th, my guess is that you won't see a higher value coupon while this one is running.

As well, there should (hopefully) be enough savings in a PRICELINE or HOTWIRE purchase that an additional 5% more/less shouldn't be the deciding factor... focus on the savings vs. a conventional booking rather than if you're able to get the last 5% out of the deal (ie- focus on the $100's in savings rather than getting the last $10's out of the deal)
