Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Just to confirm, is your desired max budget $130 per night "all-in" (including taxes/fees) or $130 + taxes/fees additional?

Luckily, this is a slower period around 4th of July, so $130 + taxes/fees appears possible.

In terms of your travel plans, are there any zone/s that would work better for your needs? What would be your desired star rating?

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Your budget may be a little tight (although not terribly so, many more options if you can stretch your budget a little further), but to get started...

Are you willing to pay more to stay in a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is the goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip?

When you mention 'midtown' above does this include MTE and MTW as well as Chelsea and/or ESB? To avoid any confusion (since 'midtown' by itself is not the name of a PRICELINE zone) please list all acceptable zones, by PRICELINE name, and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.

What i need is a 3* or better for the trip

And the zone that I really want is ESB AND MTW

but as I say the other zone are ok for me if it was better and cheaper

...as I say the other zone are ok for me if it was better and cheaper

If bidding on PRICELINE you don't know the hotel you will receive so we can't say if it will be 'better' (and if it's not in your first choice of zone(s), in what way would it bet 'better'?... based upon what criteria: reviews, location, etc)

I will try to make is as simple as possible:

1) If you want cheapest, then include all acceptable zones in your bidding.

2) If you are willing to pay more to be in your preferred two zones, then bid those two zones up to your maximum bid.

==> which is your preference, #1 or #2

Also, please clarify if you're willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3*. These aren't prices for your dates, but only being used as an example:

4* for $100/nite

3* for $80/nite

==> both are within your budget, but given this scenario, would you prefer the 4* hotel at $100/nite or the 3* hotel at $80/nite?

See the highlighted/emphasized text above... $100 or less in NYC has been rare over the last few years and i think your chances of landing something at $100 or less would be somewhat low.
