Drew421 Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 I am looking to purchase the following hotel off Hot.wire: Chicago Loop - Theater District area 3.5 stars according to Hotwire Amenities: -Free Internet -Pet Friendly -Smoke Free Rooms -Fitness Center -Business Center -Spa Center -Accessible for the Blind -Accessible Path of Travel 90% recommended Trip Advisor: 4 out of 5.0 $97/night for 3 nights Any help appreciated: Curious as to if maybe it went down from a 4 to a 3.5 star because of the trip advisor rating.
AaronJB Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :) Please provide the date/s of travel and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listing. If you click the listing, then click "book now", then click "see all in the amenities box on the next page, do you see any additional accessible amenities? Finally, do you need to be in this area for a particular reason? From a tourist perspective, if you are going to be out late, there's more going on North of the river. Parts of the Loop can be pretty quiet at night. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Drew421 Posted May 14, 2014 Author Report Posted May 14, 2014 July 15-18 will be the dates of travel. Additional Amenities when clicking on Book Now include: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Business Center Internet access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Doing this part because under 21 but over 18 and don't have a huge budget. Next downtown hotel with 3+ stars and 18 and over booking is $150 night. Also going for safety. Thanks for any additional help.
AaronJB Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 This listing hasn't been ID'd/reported to the board, but my guess would be the Hotel Blake. If this is the Blake, there's not a whole lot going on in the South Loop, although there are some options nearby in Printer's Row. North of the river has more going on at night. If you want to be in an area that's more 20-something, I do see a 3* in the Lincoln Park area w/free breakfast for $95 (the price you see may differ slightly.) That says 18+ on the detail page w/smoke-free, breakfast, laundry. There's also a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating. I'm guessing this is possibly the Willows or Majestic. Lincoln Park is a neighborhood on the North side with a lot of restaurants and boutique/high-end thrift shopping, as well as some cool stores (Reckless Records on Broadway is an example - http://www.yelp.com/biz/reckless-records-chicago-3.) Lincoln Park also has the zoo, plus easy transit to downtown. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Drew421 Posted May 17, 2014 Author Report Posted May 17, 2014 Thanks for the Help. Booked it and it's HOTEL BLAKE

AaronJB Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 There are definitely many other options in the city, but if you don't feel like going far, Hackney's Printers Row (http://www.hackneysprintersrow.net/) is a couple of blocks South. The restaurant website offers a coupon if you sign up for their mailing list. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
