I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process.

My first question would be why not the 3* hotel in this zone which is priced less than this 2.5*?

... if you're interested in this one my best guess here would be the Crowne Plaza Boston-Newton

For the 2.5* my best guess would be the Best Western Terrace Inn Boston.

I kknow the 3* was cheaper and it was probably crowne plaza. But Best Western was closer to the conference I'm attending.

FYI , PRICELINE EXPRESS was $165. I did try bidding on PRICELINE over the past days and a bid of 140$ for 2.5* still wasn't accepted. So might as well go for Hot.wire announced at 142$.

I didn't go for higher star hotel because of the location.

If you continue bidding keep in mind that the star rating you bid is the minimum that you're willing to accept... your bid could always be upgraded to a higher level hotel.
