Hi there, I had fun joining Priceline and bidding for a 4 star hotel but was awarded the Wyndham and I haven't seen one positive review. Is this common and are we now tied in to the deal. We arrive on 8/5/2014.?

Hi there, I am a newbie and did try and post my win but don't see it reflected. Wyndham, Midtown East, 8-12th May. Should I be posting somewhere else?

Sorry to hear that the result is a bit of a disappointment. This used to be a boutique property called the Alex, but has undergone some changes recently. According to a review, this property is going to become a timeshare and the rooms associated with the Wyndham are on the top floors. On a positive note, this is a terrific location in NYC and if you're looking for a place to sleep and will be out much of the time, hopefully this will work well for your needs (and be better than some of the reviews indicate.)

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

Let us know if you have any questions about the city.
