By using your links I tried to get a downtown hotel and went up to 125$/night for a 4* hotel, but couldn't get a deal. I am now considering to lower my star selection or to split bids as I think that the last night (Fri/Sat) pushes the price. I hope i am not posting this in the wrong section and im thankful for any answer. :)

When I look at the additional nights separately 6/12-14, 6/13-14, those periods look pretty similar on HOTWIRE to if one searches for 6/11-14. I don't think splitting the stay will be of real benefit in this case, unfortunately. These date/s do look rather busy and I think a 4* in the NMA-River North area will likely take more towards the $145-155 neighborhood.

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

Thanks for your fast reply. We are doing a roadtrip, and we are going to give the car back in SLC and fly to CHI. Honestly, even 2* wouldn't be a problem, but as the differences in price are rather small, I am willing to pay a few more bucks to have a nicer stay. 150$ would still be okay. I am also checking some PRICELINE EXPRESS deals and additional coupon codes. Since it is my first trip to the USA, I'm kind of new to this stuff. :)

Thank you! I got this deal and I'm quite happy about it, also had promo code which saved me a little more. Likely, I would have gotten a better deal if I waited 1-2 weeks, but the price is nice, I guess. I still need a hotel in San Francisco (separate thread).. As regards the other destinations (except Yellowstone), I will book them on the road using hotwire or priceline. :)

Glad you are pleased with the result and are looking forward to your stay. There's a very nice Whole Foods a couple of blocks East of this property and the restaurant-heavy River North area is an easy walk away.
