LoriLD Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Looking for a 4* hotel in one of these areas. I have tried Price.line (using your link) and went as far as $215 with no luck. My strategy was: TS TS+ MH MTW MTW+MH TS+MTW TS+MTW +MH However, there's a hotel on HOTWIRE in TS fo $195. It was $200 yesterday. It looks to be the ROW. The reviews don't look great for this hotel. What bid should I expect to win? I have bid twice before... in 2009, I got the Westin Times Square for about $250. In 2013, I got the Hilton New York for $216 on PRICELINE EXPRESS. What is the ideal window to bid. I noticed a fair decrease in prices yesterday (which would have been 3 weeks away). Do the prices tend to change as the weeks get closer? Should I wait for the 2 weeks mark? Thanks for the help!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Are these the only two acceptable zone? If so, you're likely looking at just a bit more at $225-$245/nite. Keep in mind that The Row NYC is a 'new' hotel which was recently renovated and taken over from the previous Milford Plaza. Most of the recent reviews i've seen are generally favorable (where as the reviews of the Milfrod Plaza were not)... so make sure you are giving more weight to the most recent reviews and almost no weight to older reviews. Any interest in what i assume to be the Wyndham New Yorker (MSG zone) for under $200/nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. LoriLD Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 I'm only now getting a chance to have a look again and the Row NYC seems to be gone up. In hind sight I should have booked it. Tried a few bids again today up t $220 with no luck. I would really like MTW or TS. If I don't have anything booked by next week, I may consider something in a different area.I will keep you posted.

I like the MTE/ESB areas, although a couple of 4* properties in MTE are towards/at the far E end of the zone. LoriLD Posted May 6, 2014 Author Report Posted May 6, 2014 After a few days of trying bids around $225 and under, I decided to up my bid on my last bid of the day and won at $243C! Reviews look good for this hotel. I'm very pleased! Thanks again!
