Davosfam Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 I need help identifying 4* Anaheim Disney South from 6/24-6/28 - 90% recommended - $117 Amenities are: Pet friendly, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, internet access, golf nearby, tennis nearby, accessible for the blind I'm thinking it is Hyatt Regency but when I check their website, they have no rooms left. Not sure how that works. Thank you for the help!
thereuare Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method this is what i'm seeing for the 4* hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Pet Friendly Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Tennis Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, my best guess for this one would be the Hyatt Regency Orange County. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Davosfam Posted April 28, 2014 Author Report Posted April 28, 2014 I hadn't used your Bidding.Helper before, just the Hot.wire.com quickquote at the top. Those are the correct amenities so it is probably Hyatt Regency. If I go to Hyatt Regency's website, it shows that there are no rooms available and I'm afraid that if I book through HOTWIRE, they won't have a room for us. How does that work?
AaronJB Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 A hotel having no availability showing on the hotel website but having discount inventory is definitely not unheard of. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 If I go to Hyatt Regency's website, it shows that there are no rooms available and I'm afraid that if I book through HOTWIRE, they won't have a room for us.A hotel can always overbook no matter how you book, and although rare, it does happen from time-to-time. There is no set rule/law, but when it does happen, industry practice is that the hotel will put you up for the sold-out nite(s) at a comparable hotel and that nite is free (it gets a little murky when you have pre-paid thru a third party like PRICELINE / HOTWIRE but usually the refund for the sold-out nite(s) comes thru) as well as cab fare to/from the new property (if you don't have a car) If you search the Hyatt website for just the first nite of your stay there is availability, so even if the hotel is sold-out, hopefully you'll already be checked-in and it won't effect you at all. Also, Price.line is showing availability for your nites on the retail side of their service, so should this in fact be the hotel you receive, hopefully it will go smoothly and no issue. Davosfam Posted April 29, 2014 Author Report Posted April 29, 2014 Do you think it would be cheaper for me to bid through Priceline? I have used Priceline several times so I know how to bid.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 There is no way to know if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay. With the Hyatt's website showing sold-out for your complete stay it would indicate higher than usual demand for these dates... i don't know if they have a conference at the hotel or if there is a convention during your dates, but i would think this is a busy time of year in the area as families take 'end of school year trips' and take their kids to Disney. There is a further discussion of 'Bidding Early or Late' in our PRICELINE FAQ. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Davosfam Posted April 29, 2014 Author Report Posted April 29, 2014 I would never have planned a trip for this time of year but we are going with extended family. ;) I'm wondering if bidding on Price.line would be cheaper than buying through Hot.wire. I think there are only two 4* hotels via Priceline, both of which are OK with me. Thank you for all your help!
thereuare Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 There are exceptions to every rule, but usually bidding on PRICELINE is a little cheaper than HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS. If you're ready to begin bidding now, let us know your maximum bid for a 4* hotel in the Disneyland South zone and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
