rci2145 Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I am getting married at the El San Juan Hotel and Resort on the weekend of August 16th. However, their published prices are expensive for our potential guests. Exploring cheaper options, I looked up 3.5 star Hotels on Hotwire. I found this one for $96: Amenities Free Internet Pet friendly Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Reviews Hotwire customer reviews 80% recommended (104 total reviews) Overall satisfaction 4.0 Condition of hotel 3.5 Quality of service 4.0 Room comfort 3.5 Room cleanliness 3.5 Location of hotel 4.5 Where you'll stay Isla Verde - Carolina - SJU area Airports SJU - Luis Munoz Marin - 7.1mi FAJ - Diego Jiménez Torres Airport - 31.0mi Distances are calculated in a straight line from area center HOT RATE HOTEL Isla Verde - Carolina - SJU area | Show map 80% recommended 1 HOT RATE ROOM 4 NIGHTS 8/14/14 to 8/18/14 2 ADULTS STANDARD PRICE $139ǂ YOU SAVE $43 $139ǂ $96 per night This hotel charges a resort fee of about 10% of your nightly rate Then I searched for 4 star Hotels and found this for $134. Also, do you guys think that booking now is a good idea or will the prices come down if people wait. August 16th should be their dead period. Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher between now and your trip, but what is likely is that the offers above will likely change over time (whether it be the rates and/or the hotels themselves)... and this may even happen as you try to convey all the information above to your guests and they make a decision. As well, many of your guests will have different budgets, star rating requirements, and travel dates. Rather than have us research the hotels above which may or may not be relevant for any of your guests, or available for purchase once they are willing to commit to a non-refundable purchase (assuming they are even comfortable with an 'opaque' hotel purchase), feel free to have your guests come to the board and ask for help and we will assist them with their specific needs. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Thanks! (and good luck with the last minute wedding plans) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
