4 nights.  I've read some scuzzy reviews on the hotel but hopes are high for a decent upgrade when I get to the desk.

I'm not sure what you have heard about this property but overall the recent reviews have been pretty good, imo. It's not the nicest hotel in NYC, but the location is great and i haven't heard anything terrible about the rooms (perhaps a bit tired, but should be clean and no major issues that i'm aware of)
