domenicd Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Hi, Will need 2 rooms May 23 - May 25 , in a 4* NYC hotel. Preferably the Soho, Chelsea area, or Financial district . Budget is around 150$/night. Any hotels known to offer free parking? Thanks for your help,Dom
AaronJB Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :) There are a couple of properties that offer somewhat lesser parking costs, but parking at hotel in NYC is either going to be expensive or really expensive (it's going to vary by property, but $40-60 or higher is likely.) In terms of those three areas, I think you may be able to get a 4* towards the top end of your budget, although it may take a bit over $150. With high parking costs likely, is going over $150 possible if needed, or would you rather try for 3.5*? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
domenicd Posted April 13, 2014 Author Report Posted April 13, 2014 Hi, For the 3.5* hotels what am I looking at in terms of price, and also choice?
AaronJB Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 You can find the hotels that have been reported to the board here: Priceline Hotel List New York. You have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating chosen in the zone/s chosen. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

domenicd Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Posted April 14, 2014 Hi , I had a question regarding hotel choice for the Hell's Kitchen area. For example, when I look at the Priceline star availability, I notice that they have 2*s - 4*s for that region. When you look at their map for Hell's Kitchen, it seems that the region is limited between 9th and 12th avenue, and 45th and 51st street. If you look at the hotels in that region, I only see about 4 hotels total. How is that possible, are those limits on the map only a guideline. I ask because I was reconsidering staying in a 4* in Hell's Kitchen. Thanks, Dom
thereuare Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 The hotel you receive will be in the boundaries of the zone as defined by the PRICELINE map. There are fewer hotels in this zone vs. other zones in Manhattan, but there are certainly more than just 4 hotels... what source are you using to look at possible hotels in this zone? domenicd Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Posted April 14, 2014 Hi, I am using google maps. Do you have a more reliable source? Thanks,Dom
domenicd Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Posted April 14, 2014 Hi, I can only find the following hotels: InK48Comfort InnHoliday Inn Express Manhattan West SideNew York Skyline Hotel414 Hotel
AaronJB Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 It is certainly a smaller zone, with a handful of hotels. It can be a little bit out of the way and is not commonly bid on by users - are you interested in staying in this zone? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

domenicd Posted April 14, 2014 Author Report Posted April 14, 2014 Hi Aaron, Yes I am interested in this zone, due to its closeness to the cruise ports. What do you think 150$ will get me? Do you think the Ink48 is possible? Thanks, Dom
thereuare Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Is this the only zone you're willing to accept OR are there others (such as those in your first post) which are acceptable as well? I'd encourage you to not pick a hotel/zone based upon proximity to the port as it will be less convenient for most of your other activities (and you'll likely be coming/going to/from your hotel multiple times over the weekend, whereas you'll only be heading to the port once) Ultimately it's your stay, so let us know which zone(s) you'd like to include in your bidding and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. My guess for this property would be the Wynhdam New Yorker. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
