Hotwire Hotel: 4* Vienna (Vienna City Center - West) Falkensteiner Hotel Am Schottenfeld

Pleased to report this new hotel in a new zone in Vienna to the board.  Used BiddingHelper.com.com as always to look and to book.

 

Not sure exactly how I feel about this one as I don't know enough about Vienna to know if the location is good or not.  Reviews are good, but far from stellar.  It does seem close to the museums and to the Mariahilfer St., the main shopping street in Vienna.

 

My first impression of the hotel after winning, aside from having the most Germanic hotel name ever, came from TripAdvisor, which located this hotel at a spot on the map far from the city center.  I was depressed for a couple of minutes until I realized that the map marker was wildly inaccurate.  I was about to contest this with Hotwire until I realized that the HOTWIRE location was actually correct.  I haven't had to do this, but I assume an that inaccurate zone listing could result in a refund.
