I just figured that when you make small changes to your name you can try the same bids again.

 

Example:

 

Your name is Jeff Mike Smith. For the first bids you use "Jeff Mike" for the first name and "Smith" for the last name in the reservation name field. If all bids fail then use only "Jeff Smith" for the next tries. You still have the correct name... PL apparently blocks you from rebidding only if the name is exactly the same. Of course you can also use the name of your wife etc. if she is going to the stay at the hotel, too. That will give you extra tries as well.

I dont think so as you might want to book rooms for different people so you must be able to enter different names without waiting 24h

If you have a winning bid it 'clears' any 24 hour lock-out for the parameters of your win... so there is no issue purchasing a second room after your first win.
