MrCodeDude Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 Started at $60/night. Saw that Hotwire had a 4* hotel in the area for $115. Bid up to $115. On my final $115 bid, got the Gaylord Texan, which, IMO, is considerably nicer than the other 4* properties in the area. Unfortunately, even though it's labeled as a 4* hotel, they still hit you with a $30/night resort fee (plus $17/night self-parking), so my total cost ended up being close to $190/night with taxes, resort fee, and parking.
thereuare Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Unfortunately the star rating has had little to do with resort fees... i have seen 2* hotels charge resort fees. Even with the extra fees (which 'regular' guests have to pay as well), hope you enjoyed your stay and found the hotel to be a good value for the price paid.
