I don't remember my exact bidding history but this is pretty accurate. I kept the rating at 4* and only changed areas for bidding (but areas that I knew had no 4* hotels since I wanted to be DT):

$100 DT Portland

$110 + Beaverton

$120 + Clackamas

$130 + Lloyd Center

$140 + Gresham

$145 + Hillsboro

$150 + Lake Oswego

$155 + North Harbor

$160 + North Vancouver

Won bid at $160/night at 4* hotel in DT Portland since all other areas did not contain a hotel higher than 3.5*.
