Just found out what happens when  you get a bit cocky and dont ask questions. Could have sworn this was going to be Holiday Inn at the airport but got it totally wrong. Not to worry its still a nice hotel.

Next time remind me not to get so excited and think i can do it without you guys :-(

Yes, but then there was the time I thought I'd perfectly sleuthed out a Hotwire hotel....Just to be sure, I checked here...Same answer.  

 

As it turns out, we both were wrong.  There really isn't any sure thing with either Hotwire or Priceline bidding/Express.  That is why answers are always phrased as "best guess" or something similar.

 

But the odds are definitely improved by the expertise here.  

 

I'm happy to see you getting so comfortable with the process.

As you are working your way across the US, I think you'll find the 3*s (and even lower) surprisingly nice.  Especially in smaller towns.  Not a sure thing, but often they take a lot of pride in their business and it shows.

 

And the lower star ones are actually more likely to include a free breakfast.  In smaller towns space is more available, and parking also tends to be free. 

 

It varies from area to area of course, but thought I'd mention it.

 

And have you found the Hotel Reviews area on this site yet?  Clear toward the end.  It is organized by state, and one of the first posts lets you click on the first letter of the particular state to jump right to those reviews.  Reviews of course are always to be taken "with a grain of salt", but the ones here do have the unique perspective of the bargain rate at which the hotel was obtained.

It looks like you may have used PRICELINE EXPRESS for this purchase, can you confirm if you received this property by bidding on PRICELINE or if it was Priceline Express? If PRICELINE EXPRESS, do you recall the amenities shown before your purchase?

I'll add going back to your previous comment about bidding being scary... well in this instance even though you guessed wrong, PRICELINE 'bailed you out' as the reviews are good and you received a very nice deal. Even if the hotel/reviews weren't as good... it's just one nite, and i can usually put up with anything for just one nite.

You are right, it is only one night so we weren't too worried although I did panic when it said Williamsville as I put in the airport and thought that was Cheektawaga but apparently it is not too far and the do have a shuttle to airport so all good. It has good reviews on T/A so we are ok with it. Funny thing was that this hotel wasn't even on the List View last night so it came out of nowhere. They have added it today. We booked through Priceline.Express.
