shaynajae Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 I am looking to book a hotel that is at least 3.5* in south beach for April 5-8 and I just want to make sure I understand the re-bid strategy before I do so. So say I choose all the desired areas I want which contain 3.5* hotels on my first bid but I get rejected. I have written down all the zones which only have up to 3* hotels, so would the best method be to add them one by one while slightly increasing my bid? (My concern is that it might get accepted in an unwanted zone for a 3*). And I clearly wouldn't want to lower the star rating with the unwanted zones still in the mix correct?
Romelle Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Maybe you could post the zones you consider correct for rebidding, and somebody here could double check them. How did you determine the zones? There is a correct way, and also an often used wrong way. Romelle

shaynajae Posted March 31, 2014 Author Report Posted March 31, 2014 I am looking for a hotel for April 5-8 (last minute, I know). The max I am willing to go is $115/night for a 3.5 star and my desired area is the South Beach- Central, South Beach-Collins Ave, and South Beach-Ocean Ave, but I am willing to go for a 3*. I believe the rebid zones are Aventura, North Miami, Miami West, and Southwest Miami because those were the only zones with the highest rating being a 3*.
thereuare Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Yes, you have your re-bid zones correct for the 3.5* level, but always double check them to make sure that nothing has changed since you last look. Also, note that at the 3* level you have NO re-bid zones. While i think you may have trouble getting a 3.5* at $115 or under, you can begin as follows: Select 3.5* Collins Ave and Ocean Dr... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 3.5* Collins Ave and Central... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...
