Hi!

Hoping to get some bidding help to get a 5* hotel (Wynn, Encore, Venetian or Palazzo). Max I want to go up is $150 a room per night and will be needing two rooms. What are the zones that do not have 5* again?

Dates are 4/25-4/28

Thanks!

Please go over the information in this thread to determine zones: re-bidding. You will need to check zones every time you start bidding as re-bid options can possibly change at any time.

If you need help confirming, please list the zone/s you find.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

There are five more zones you can use for free rebidding at the 5* level.

Using Maps.Hotels up in the Tools area, the best rate I see for 5*s and your dates is $236 for the Wynn.  That likely is too much of a stretch from $150.  When rates are higher, the savings via bidding is slimmer.

PS - if you want to work with Maps and Hotels, enter "las vegas strip" in the location area.

With current rates would my guess be that you're looking at approx $200/night for a 5* in the North zone.

Have you found out how to determ your free zones or would you like a further explanation how you should do?

Feel free to post the zones here and we'll confirm them for you.

Let us know and we'll go from there.

Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.

I just confirmed your list of free rebid zones (at the 5* level!) - Thursday 3/27 8:48am.   In an earlier post AaronJB gave you a link to a detailed explanation.  It really is important you know how to do this yourself since you need to do it each day just before bidding.  I've seen lots of changes in many cities over time.

In fact, when I'm doing a complicated lengthy bidding sequence, I usually open up a second screen and check those free zones again as I'm going.

For the record, I'm a member, not a board official.  Just worrying you'll slip and get a hotel in an area you don't want.

If the detailed explanation isn't making sense for you, do post back and you'll be helped step-by-step until it becomes clear.  It is one of those things that just isn't intuitively obvious.

Your re-zones are correct... and please read your messages.

Is your maximum bid still $150/nite, as current rates still suggest it will take a bit more than this to be successful for a 5* hotel in this zone.
