Shelandra Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 I am planning a surprise trip to NY for my husbands birthday with another couple so we need 2 rooms for a total of 4 adults. Dates: 6/18/14 - 6/22/14 I have been looking in the Midtown Cental and Times Square area for at least a 3* . I am open to any areas that you think are better. The only requirement is to be close to transportation and areas that are more geared toward touriest. I would like the price to stay under $200 per night. I may be willing to go a little above that for the right place. I have one hotel that I am trying to determine on hotwire: Midtown Central Area: $181 (2 rooms/4adults)41% off and 85% recomendedFree InternetFitness CenterPool(s)Resturant(s)Business CenterAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travel I could not find this same hotel on the bidding helper Hotwire EasyView but I did find one there for $177 with the following:FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Looks like it may be the same... but I am not sure what I am doing wrong! Please let me know if I am missing something or if anyone has any suggestions for me. I am new to this site and trying to make sure I follow the rules. Thanks! .
yellowdog Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. So please search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. Then copy and paste the amenities, as well as the price. I could not find this same hotel on the bidding helper Hotwire EasyView but I did find one there for $177 with the following: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in showerIs this hotel also for MTC? I can't get the same hotel to appear when replicating your search for 2 rooms/4 adults. Can you please run a new search and confirm that you still can see this hotel on your search and indicate which zone it is located in. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Midtown Central Area: $181 (2 rooms/4adults) 41% off and 85% recomended Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Resturant(s) Business Center Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel I could not find this same hotel on the bidding helper Hotwire EasyView...If a hotel is not appearing in the EASY VIEW you need to do the following to see the complete set of amenities: 1) search HOTWIRE and select the offer from the search results page / or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com and select the offer 2) click the BOOK NOW button 3) in the TRIP SUMMARY BOX click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenities Doing so i see the following amenities for this property: Free Internet Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, my best guess for this one would be the Holiday Inn New York City-Midtown-57th St. I'll add that i'm seeing what i believe to be the 4* InterContinental The Barclay for $195/nite... a little more expensive than the 3* above, but higher rated and a nice hotel, imo. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and/or how you'd like to proceed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Shelandra Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 OK, I was not able to get back to the site as soon as I wanted and it seems as if things have changed! So I am not interested in the Holiday Inn... I had a feeling that is what it was. But here are two that I am currently seeing. Everything is still the same. 2 rooms, a total for 4 adults and same dates. Shelandra Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 Now I am looking at the priceline boards and wondering if I would get a better deal on bidding. Looks like I can still request 2 rooms which is what I need. Any suggestions for priceline? Should I start a new thread on the priceline board? Too many options and I am always looking for the best deal. I would need suggestions on which areas to bid. I would probably go with 4 stars or higher. Thanks again for the help!
Shelandra Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 I just went for it and I am happy with the results! Now I must stop looking!
