sj10460 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Hi,I'm traveling to MIA on May 23-May 27. I want to stay in SoBe and my areas of preference are Miami Beach, SoBe Collins Ave, SoBe Ocean Drive and SoBe Central. I do not want to stay in any other areas besides those mentioned. I want a 4* and better or a 3.5* with a pool. Priceline had Riveria for $158 in the express deal but I missed the cut off. It doesn't appear to be offered anymore in the express deals, however Mondrian is listed for $184. Ideally I want to spead $125-$150 daily. Any tips on how I should bid?
thereuare Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! I want a 4* and better or a 3.5* with a pool.To clarify, if a pool a must have at either star level OR only at the 3.5* level? If bidding on PRICELINE there won't be able way to guarantee that the hotel you receive has a pool (you would need to use PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know the information above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
sj10460 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 A pool is needed. Should I limit to 4 stars? Thank You ;)
thereuare Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 On the bidding side of PRICELINE, the only zone above that shows a Pool as a guaranteed amenity at the 4* level is the South Beach Central zone, a Pool would not be guaranteed in any of the other zones. You can either only bid on this one, or you can search PRICELINE EXPRESS and/or HOTWIRE to see if any hotels there are offered with a Pool and within your desired zone, star rating, and budget. (use our BiddingHelper.com to search all these sites with one click) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sj10460 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 Since I want a pool and I want to stay in four areas listed above, how should I proceed? Should SoBe Central be my first choice or my last choice in terms of rebidding?
AaronJB Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Since I want a pool and I want to stay in four areas listed above, how should I proceed? Should SoBe Central be my first choice or my last choice in terms of rebidding? If you want a pool and pool is not listed as a guaranteed amenity for that zone, then I would not bid for that zone. HOTWIRE or PRICELINE Express - where you can look for a pool amenity - may be another option worth considering. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Since I want a pool and I want to stay in four areas listed above, how should I proceed? Should SoBe Central be my first choice or my last choice in terms of rebidding? If a pool is a must have then South Beach Central should be your only choice when bidding on PRICELINE (assuming the 'guaranteed amenities' still shows a Pool icon listed... and note that this is only at the 4* level.. at the 3.5* level no POOL amenity is listed, so 3.5* is not safe to bid in any zone), but as noted above, you should also consider PRICELINE EXPRESS and/or HOTWIRE to give you more options. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sj10460 Posted March 26, 2014 Author Report Posted March 26, 2014 Thank You I noticed that some hotels are not showing pools as amenties. For example Fontainebleu isn't showing pool as an amentity.
thereuare Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Hotels need to have all the amenities shown, but don't need to show all the amenities they have. Where is it that you're looking where the Fountainbleau is showing without a Pool? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sj10460 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 when i use PRICELINE to search for hotels ex: star: 4* amenitiy: pool location: miami beach fountainbleu doesn't show up in results, there was another hotel but I can't remember which one it is.
thereuare Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Keep in mind the 'retail' side of PRICELINE uses a different inventory of hotels from the bidding and PRICELINE EXPRESS side, so you can't use the retail side to determine all the possibilities of what you will get when bidding or thru PRICELINE EXPRESS. As well, if i'm interpreting your post above correctly, maybe the Fountainbleu simply doesn't have any inventory offered thru the retail side of PRICELINE for the date(s) that you are searching. sj10460 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 I understand that all the hotels are not offered in the PRICELINE EXPRESS. Fountainbleu does have rooms available for my dates, May 23-May 27. It shows up in Price.line retail but if I select pool it no longer shows up. I guess the only way to fully understand what I am saying is to try it like I listed previously.
thereuare Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 It shows up in PRICELINE retail but if I select pool it no longer shows up.OK, i see this... so now what to do with this information? The hotel has a pool but PRICELINE doesn't have it listed in their list of amenities associated with this property so it doesn't show when you filter by 'pool'. Unless you're filter the results in order to find a hotel to purchase thru the PRICELINE retail channel, what to do with this information? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sj10460 Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 Thanks...I'm not sure. I guess it makes me want to chance bidding in other areas that don't have a pool guaranteed at 4*. My hope is that I may still get a pool with 4* but I will be sad it I don't. I want to be able to lay at the pool in case I don't feel like leaving the hotel on any particular day.
AaronJB Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Basically, if a pool is a *must*, then your options are: Bid for a star rating and zone where pool is noted as a guaranteed amenity. Look for a HOTWIRE listing where pool is an amenity or look for a pl Express listing where pool is an amenity. Please let us know what you decide upon and how you'd like to proceed. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
