pinkark Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Have a late event at Madison Sq Garden 3/29. Need room for 1 night. Think we want to be in Empire State Bldg or Midtown West areas. Would like to be around $125 - 150 max. Can you help with Priceline strategy? I saw a some wins for Affinia 4* @ $110 in MSG here and complaints that rooms super small and loud hotel in trip advisor. Thinking hotels in this area might not be a good idea. Love the $110 though. Basically want a clean, quiet place to sleep. Don't need any extras. Figure 3.5-4* will give us decent quality. Thoughts?
thereuare Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 My suggestion would be the 4* PRICELINE EXPRESS property in the MSG zone with: Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center ... currently priced at $163/nite but the discount link and code in my signature brings this down to $155/nite, just a few dollars over your maximum target budget. While the Affinia Manhattan does offer all of the amenities above (so it would be a possibility), my guess for this one would be the Wyndham New Yorker would be an excellent location given your late nite MSG event. You can certainly try bidding on PRICELINE for the MTW and/or ESB zones, but I think the above may ultimately be cheaper than either of these other two zones. Most midtown locations should be less than a $10 cab ride from MSG, so you could also consider other zones that may not be walkable, but may still come in under your $150 budget when considering hotel + $10 taxi fare. pinkark Posted March 25, 2014 Author Report Posted March 25, 2014 Thanks, we have had a change and don't need a room. Will tuck this info away for another time though. I appreciate your help.
