Hotwire Hotel: 3* Orlando (Universal Orlando - I-Drive North) Sunsol International Drive

This property is not listed in the Hotwire Hotel List for Orlando, as far as I can tell.

This is a popular weekend in Orlando (Spring break, NCAA tournament).  All hotels seem to be priced higher than usual, and most are sold out, so when I found a 3* property listed for under $100.00, I grabbed it.

Based on the online reviews, this might be an okay (if noisy) hotel in a good location, but I am expecting 2* amenities and service.  I understand it may be a renovated former Super 8.

I do not recall what the recommendation level was - I believe it was 75% or 85%.

I believe this property has been improved.  I did not experience the issues mentioned in prior online reviews. 

 

The room was very spacious and had tile flooring throughout.  The furnishings were not the highest quality, but overall they were fine.  There is a lot of traffic noise on some sides of the hotel, because it is near a very busy road.

 

There is an $8 resort fee, although the resort aspects seem to be limited to a pool snack bar, cabanas near the pool, a children's play area, and a deck overlooking a retention pond.  There is no fitness center (one was not mentioned in the amenities).

 

Overall, I would recommend this property for access to the I-Drive area and Orlando in general, including I-4 and Disney.  It seems particularly suitable for families with young children.
