Priceline Hotel: NYC - 3.5-4* midtown or financial district

Looking for 5/24-5/26. I am not terribly picky about location, but would like something nice and close to attractions and the subway. maybe stay under $100 if i can. suggestions?

i probably can. i see that HOTWIRE and PRICELINE have some non-bidding deals for around $140-160. id like to stay under that for sure. the taxes/fees are a little insane. like $50/night.

would i be better off to wait a couple weeks until closer or is early better?

This is traditionally a very busy period in NYC with nicer weather, baseball, graduations and more. If the last few years are any indication, I would not wait until the last minute. There's less in the way of last minute deals in the last few years as demand has ramped.

 

NYC is unfortunately very expensive in terms of hotels in general and $100 and under is really only found during the slowest part of the year (Jan/Feb.)

 

I do think you could get something close to your budget in the Financial District, but that's not convenient to Midtown attractions. Given what I'm seeing, basically I think you can choose between getting a 3.5* closer to your desired $100 budget (probably around $105-115) or go for something in Midtown, which will be more convenient but probably require more in the $140-150 neighborhood.
