justonemore Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Hi all, This is my first time trying this out and it's actually sort of fun. Thanks for any and all assistance. Basic details: 2 children, 2 adults. April 22nd-27th. 5* property in the Mayfair-Soho_Piccadilly Circus area. I'm getting a price listing of $437 down from $1264 (65% off). Amenity listings include Free Internet, Fitness center, Business center, CASINO, self service laundry, spa services, restaurants. It is also listed as "accessible for the deaf". I did look at the hotel lists here on the site and I found nothing that mentioned a casino. I googled hotels with Casinos, and found only 4 that might match, but they don't seem to fit the description exactly. I.E. The May Fair hotel's rooms are only listed at $600 versus $1,264. Hot.wire doesn't seem to do business with the Ritz. The other 2 properties aren't in the stated zone (although one of them is near the border). Thanks in advance. Best to all.
thereuare Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! Best guess for this one would be the The May Fair (which does have a Casino) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. justonemore Posted March 18, 2014 Author Report Posted March 18, 2014 Thanks for the prompt reply. As I mentioned, The May Fair is listed as a $600 room on the no bid side of Hot.wire. The retail price that they're listing for this "blind buy" hotel is around $1'200. That's a bit of a price difference to be the same hotel isn't it? Perhaps I'm too new to this concept and missing something? Thanks once again.
thereuare Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 The crossed out rate is not necessarily the price of the specific hotel offered, it is an average rate of hotels of that star rating in the zone for your dates... it's not meaningful in trying to guess the hotel offered.
