acrossthesea Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Hi there I will gladly take any of the 5* hotels in this area for a reasonable price.I tried bidding with $100 per night but got rejected. What would be a good strategy for me here? ThanksTom
thereuare Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Not sure what you consider to be a 'reasonable price', but i do think you can be successful at just a bit more than you have bid, so this is how i would proceed... When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 5* Strip South... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $102, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $104, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $106, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $113 If the above is rejected, PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 5* hotel in this zone for $119/nite, but the discount code and link in my signature brings this down to $113/nite, and you can take that one: Outdoor Pool, Free Internet in room, Free Parking, Business Center, Fitness Center Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us how how it goes. acrossthesea Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 Thanks so much. I get the gist of re-bidding.I will give it a go and report back!

acrossthesea Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 I know there is a 5% off coupon which could have got me a 5* for $113, but I noticed on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins that someone got the Vdara (which is my favourite) at $114. So I felt it was worth the extra $1.
thereuare Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received your favorite hotel in the area and are looking forward to your trip.
