cwendeln Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 I am looking at two 4* resorts on Hotwire located in Ka'anapali and want to win either the Sheraton or the Westin (but do not want to win the Hyatt). The dates are 5/12/14-5/17/14. I've looked both on the regular hotwire site as well as through the Bidding Helper interface. Can you please help identify these two hotels? HOTEL 1 (which I suspect to be the Hyatt)The results I get from the Hotwire/BiddingHelper site are:Ka'anapali Area HotelRegular Price: $269Hotwire Price: $171Hotel charges about a $30 Resort Fee Amenities are:Free Internet Resort Beachfront hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's actvities, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible HOTEL 2 (Sheraton or Westin I think)Regular Price: $299Hotwire Price: $194Hotel charges about a $31.25 resort fee per room per night Amenities are:Free ParkingResort Pet friendlyBeachfront hotelSmoke Free RoomsFitness Center Pool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundry Internet access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's actvities
cnssu123 Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 I just posted a similiar question for 4/20-4/23. I actually think your 2nd hotel is Westin, since it's consistent with the free parking listed as amenities in the Hotwire hotel list and the $299 price is consistent with Westin. That's just my guess though. I am trying to get Sheraton.
thereuare Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 I actually think your 2nd hotel is Westin, since it's consistent with the free parking listed as amenities in the Hotwire hotel list and the $299 price is consistent with Westin. It may be the Westin, but the 'Free Parking' is a relatively new amenity so this could be one of the other 4* hotels in the zone but just not reported to the board since added... and the crossed out rate is not necessarily the price of the specific hotel offered, but is an average rate of hotel(s) of that star rating in the zone. cwendeln, are you trying to target a specific property for this trip? cwendeln Posted March 13, 2014 Author Report Posted March 13, 2014 Yes- I'm hoping to get either the Westin or the Sheraton, but do not want the Hyatt.
AaronJB Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Both services really require flexibility and are more about getting a hotel at a discount - if you are able to get the hotel you want, definitely a bonus. However, there may be multiple possibilities for a listing and usually only one hotel appears at each star rating in each zone for each set of date/s. Thank you for keeping us updated with what you decide. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cnssu123 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Yes- I'm hoping to get either the Westin or the Sheraton, but do not want the Hyatt.Hi cwendeln, Just an FYI, this morning I checked the Priceline.Express deal for my trip. I was able to get the Sheraton. For my date 4/20-4/23, here's is the info for the mystery hotel for your reference. $174 per night 4 Star Hotel in Ka'anapali- Lahaina Area. The deal saves 45% or ore compared to similar hotels Guaranteed Amentities: Outdoor Swimming Pool, Fitness Center and Restaurant. Gest Score 8.0 out of 10 On the summary charges, there' s an additional mandatory fee of $ 35 (approximately) charged by property at checkout. Of course I can't gaurantee you will get Sheraton on your dates for sure. But you can use this as reference and if you want to take a bet.

cwendeln Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 As we suspected, the 4* including the free parking was indeed the Westin Maui.
