JaynieLee
Hi! I'm new here *waves* and new to bidding on hotels. I'm thinking of using Priceline as I think they're my best bet to get the hotel I actually want. But I have a question, do they list ALL of their hotels on the site or do they factor in other hotels without you knowing? I'm looking at a five star in a certain area and it is only one of two listed on the Priceline site. Will I be getting one of the two or will I be getting a hotel that is not listed on their site? I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance! :) Link to comment
yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding! The retail side and the bidding service use different hotels. So it's no guarantee that you'll get a hotel that you see on the retail side of PRICELINE when using the bidding or PRICELINE EXPRESS side. It would be easier to help you if you post your dates and the city/zone for the hotels you have in mind. Let us know and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog. Link to comment
Romelle
I've a couple times gotten a hotel not listed on the Price.line retail side. It definitely is possible. My experience with what I've received has ranged from "this will work" to "WOW, did I get lucky". Haven't had a bad one yet, and I've been using PL for years. Romelle Link to comment
JaynieLee
Check-In would be June 23rd and Check-Out would be June 25th and I'm staying in DC (the Downtown-White House area) preferable hotel would be the Willard or the J.W. Marriott. Their location is very important to me, I don't want to stray far from there. That's why I'm very hesitant about name your own price. Also I was hoping to score the Willard for around 200-250 the extra money saved would be a big help with fees and taxes. Alot of the other hotels that are five star are 400 and up so I think my chances might be high? Link to comment
thereuare
There are never any guarantees, but if you're trying to target the InterContinental Willard, i believe this hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS is likely this property (confirm your dates at the landing page of the previous link). It is currently offered for $236/nite but using the discount link and code in my signature gives an additional 5% OFF bringing the room rate down to ~$225/nite. Amenities shown: Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center If you try bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target, or guess at, a particular property before the purchase (in your situation above you run a greater risk of their being yet another 5* hotel in the zone) Does the above work for your needs and budget? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
