I didn't know September was so busy in NYC, If I knew I'd have booked my airline tickets to August, but now I have fixed dates already.

I'm trying to find something 3.5* or better in Midtown East near Grand Central Terminal, but best prices on Priceline Express Deals were $282 on 4*. I'm afraid of getting some poor hotels at 3*, because they're shown on normal priceline search.

I have tried $160 but nothing found, I will try $180 next, any tips on this?

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

What about considering other nearby (midtown) zones? Why is it that you want/need to stay so close to Grand Central?

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Let us know your thoughts/information on the above and we'll take it from there.

Hi thereuare,

I could consider Empire State Area, Times Square, maybe even Midtown West, I chose Midtown East because most of the things I'm planning to do are very close, also I know the area because I stayed there once.

I was planning to be able to roam in that area at night for restaurants, bars, stores, without the worry of getting the subway to get to the hotel.

I could split the bid no problem, I have read the last weeks of September are worst, maybe getting something for 17-20 and another hotel for 21-22

I could probably pay up to $200 + taxes per night in a good hotel

Thanks

What about MSG?

There is currently a 4* hotel for your dates for $189/nite, but using the discount link and code in my signature brings the cost down to $180/nite. This area is generally considered to be well located with good access to subways, and although i don't know which property this one is, it does have the following amenities:

Pets Allowed

Restaurant

Business Center

Fitness Center

In contract, the next lowest priced 4* hotel is $244/nite and the next lowest 3.5* property is $209/nite... would this work for your needs OR would you sooner consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID to stay in the MTE zone?

NOTE: wherever you do decide to stay, please DO plan on taking the subway to explore the city... there is no reason to limit yourself to the immediate area surrounding your hotel, as there are so many 'true finds' all over the city you would really miss out on some great places if you don't expand beyond the immediate area of your hotel. By the room's name and description I think it could be Wyndham New Yorker hotel, which seems a nice place to stay.

I'll think into it before deciding, but thank you for the tip.

I'll take the subway for sure but I will spend a lot of time around Midtown East at night, there are many pubs there to drink a good beer.

I'll do some more research here and let you know.

Thanks again!
