I have been researching and reading the forums on this site for a few days now. Trying to gather my thoughts before i go forward with a bid.   I am looking to spend $75 a night.  Im thinking 3.5 stars Vegas Strip South.  Also looking at 3.5 Convention Center. Please give me some direction on how to move forward with a bid on priceline and what is a releastic price to pay for this timeline.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Have you been to Vegas before and why these two zones, if i may ask? Unless rates are otherwise out of your budget, we really don't see too much bidding in the Convention Center zone from the 'typical' visitor unless you have a reason to be here specifically (ie- attending a convention or other plans in this immediate area)

Is this is tourist/sightseeing/casino hopping trip or are you in the area for some other purpose?

I think you could likely get a 4* hotel in the Strip North or Strip South zone within, or at least very close to (perhaps an extra $5/nite), your budget and would likely be worth the extra expense, imo.

Thank you for responding!

This is my second trip.  First trip I stayed at the Wynn.

I am coming for my sisters bday. Lots of activities and clubbing.  I don’t like to gamble.

I want to keep my hotel inexpensive but near the strip.  The rest of my party is staying at Monte Carlo.

I was thinking those zones were close but inexpensive.

The hotels in the Convention Center zone can get pretty far from the strip, and one taxi ride back to the hotel could totally negate any savings you may see by staying in this zone (not to mention it being much less convenient).

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. has a 4* hotel in the Strip South zone for $87/nite with:

Outdoor Pool

Free Parking

Business Center

Casino

Fitness Center

My best guess for this property would be the Tropicana, and using the discount code and link in my signature gives an extra 5% Off bringing this down to $83/nite, just $8 more than your current budget for a 3.5* hotel... and it gives you a 'known' (and in my opinion acceptable) distance from the rest of your group at the Monte Carlo.

You know your needs and and just how firm of a budget you need for this trip better than we do, but after transportation costs staying in the Convention Center zone i don't think you'll much (if any) savings and will be giving up a LOT in terms of convenience with the rest of your group.

Other viable options:

3* HOTWIRE hotel for $63/nite:

Free Parking

Free Internet

Casino

Fitness

Pool

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Golf

Tennis

Spa

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Handicapped Parking

Roll-in Shower

--> guess here would be the Excalibur

I think either of the above would be better choices than bidding on the two zones you listed... the Convention Center is not a good idea, imo, for the reasons listed... bidding on the Strip South zone since you could get a hotel very far South such as the Luxor which would also then not be very convenient.
