Dan&Dre Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 What is the minimal should I bid to get a 3.5/4* hotel in Manhantan area from 05/03 to 05/08. Thanks in advance.
AaronJB Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. Please confirm (by name) which zone/s would be acceptable and your desired max bid. This is the busier Spring period so rates will be higher. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 ... in addition to the above, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better? In other words, do you first want to try for a 4* hotel up to your maximum bid, then lower to 3.5* if rejected... or did you want to start at the 3.5* level in hopes of something less expensive? Dan&Dre Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 Hello. The zones that I'm interested in are CPS, ESB, HK, MSG, MTE,MTW and TS and my goal is the least expensive, 3.5* or better. Thank you

Dan&Dre Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 I'm wondering what is the minimal should I bid to get a 3.5*/4* hotel in my chosen areas. I've been thinking about $130/140. Is that possible for May? Thank you.
thereuare Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Don't worry about your minimum bid, as that will be taken care of based upon the areas you're bidding, how many re-bid zones you have, and your maximum bid... it's really the maximum that we need to know so that we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay. At the moment there is one 'standout' that is somewhat cheaper than the rest of the offers... i see a 4* hotel in the MSG zone for ~$160/nite, and i think this is a pretty good deal for these dates (if you compare to the other rest of the PRICELINE EXPRESS offers you'll see the next 3.5* or higher rated property is $210/nite) The 4* MSG property i'm seeing is priced at $169/nite, but using the discount link and code in my signature gives an extra 5% OFF, bringing the cost down to $161/nite. This offer has the following amenities: Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center I'm not sure what this property is, but given how much cheaper this is than any other offer, i would either take this now, or first try bidding on PRICELINE up to $160, if rejected, then take this offer... the only issue is that while you're waiting and/or bidding, this property could disappear entirely, leaving you with the much higher priced options. As well, given this is $161 for a 4* hotel... do you want to bid up to $160 for a 4*, would take a 3.5* at $160 or less since it's cheaper than this one, or what star rating and maximum bid would you want to use?
