Priceline Hotel: Priceline help in Orlando area

Ok, I'm a first timer and after reading and learning tons from your boards I have a few questions (great info here, btw.)

I'm trying to book in the downtown disney area for 3/9-3/14 (or 15) for 4 people. Here are my questions:

1. My local friends who use priceline regularly swear that the inability to specify 2 beds on priceline will not be a problem in Orlando, that in fact I should book through priceline and then immediately call the hotel and request 2 beds and I can just about count on that working. I wanted to ask your experienced opinions on this b/c with my husband and 2 daughters traveling we REALLY don't want to try to all sleep on a King bed for a week. :-)

2. Is it the case that new rooms pop up regularly as we get closer to travel dates or should I expect they'll dwindle as we get closer. For instance I saw someone got Caribe Royale a week or so ago but from my searching right now I'm not seeing anything that I think is that location for my dates. Should I expect there won't be anymore rooms available to priceline/hotwire from them (for those dates) since there aren't any or might more be 'released' in the remaining 10 days. I might be over thinking this a tad. :-p

3. I used your links to search and found the following priceline express deals. I'd love your opinion on what they a

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

2 beds is never a "given"/guarantee when using PRICELINE. It is definitely more likely/easier in some areas (Orlando) than others (NYC), but it's never 100%.

In terms of a particular hotel, both services are really more about getting a hotel at a discount - if you do happen to get the hotel you wanted, even better, but there's no guarantee it will appear (it's really up to the hotel to offer discounted inventory.) If you wait for a hotel that may or may not appear, you risk missing out on deals that may come and go in the meantime.

With 10 days out and a period that's likely going to continue to be on the busy side (spring break, plus it continues to be a miserable Winter for most of us in the North), I wouldn't expect prices to head lower and I would think that hotels are likely to expect walk-ins, so I wouldn't count on last-minute deals or additions to inventory.

When will your date/s be confirmed?

If you do a current search at BiddingHelper.com do you still see both of these hotels (and are you able to click thru each one and get more information)??

I saw the 4* one but when i clicked on it i was told no longer available, and it was replaced by a different 4* property with different amenities at $105/nite... not sure if this is still within your budget or not.

As well, the 3.5* hotel i'm seeing in thi same zone is priced at $150/nite.

Please reply with the current listing(s) that you are interested in and we'll have another look.

HOTWIRE:

3.5* LBV-DD = possible match for Holiday Inn LBV Resort

3.5* LBV-DD Condo = I'm seeing a different listing in this spot when searching this evening - are you still seeing this listing when searching?

PRICELINE EXPRESS:

4* - I'd guess the Wyndham Grand would be a possibility in this case.

3.5* East - I'd guess the Sheraton Vistana Villages or Sheraton Vistana Resort would be a possibility.
